Explanation of Titles

TITLE   DESCRIPTION
BIS   Best in Show   Title for dog that is chosen as the BEST DOG IN SHOW at an all breed show.
BISS   Best in Specialty Show   Title for dog that is chosen as the BEST DOG IN SHOW at a show only for Keeshonden.
BPIS   Best Puppy in Show   Title for dog that is chosen as the BEST PUPPY IN SHOW at an all breed show.
BBIS   Best Brace in Show   Title for a two dog team that is chosen as the BEST BRACE IN SHOW, based on similarity of type, structure and movement.
Ch   Champion   as designated by the canine governing body of that country (i.e., Canadian Kennel Club).
Gr Ch   Grand Champion   a title awarded, in several countries, to dogs that have excelled in conformation well beyond that of champion status.
CD   Companion Dog   First obedience title.
CDX   Companion Dog Excellent   Second Obedience title
UD   Utility dog   Third Obedience title
HIT   High In Trial (Obedience)   The dog awarded with the highest score at an obedience trial.
CHOF   Can. Hall of Fame   Awarded by the Keeshond Club of Canada to dogs which have excelled in the conformation ring.
HOF   Am. Hall of Fame   Awarded by the Keeshond Club of America to dogs which have excelled in the conformation ring.
COM   Certificate of Merit   Awarded by the Keeshond Club of Canada to male dogs with 12 or more Canadian champion offspring and females with 7 or more Canadian champion offspring.
COMX   Certificate of Merit Excellent   Awarded by the Keeshond Club of Canada to male dogs with 25 or more Canadian champion offspring and females with 10 or more Canadian champion offspring.
ROM   Am. Register of Merit   Awarded by the Keeshond Club of America to male dogs with 12 or more American champion offspring and females with 8 or more American champion offspring.
  ROMX     Register of Merit Excellent   Awarded by the Keeshond Club of America to male dogs with 26 or more American champion offspring and females with 11 or more American champion offspring.
